Partner and lead contact of Le Havre, Mathieu deals with all the firm’s shipping/transport disputes and, in particular, marine incidents such as ship arrest and collisions.
He has developed special expertise in maritime Labour law: assisting remarkably cruise lines on compliant certification under Maritime Labour Convention (MLC), and participated on the update of the regulatory framework of Wallis et Futuna, to make it compatible with the MLC.
Mathieu developed significant experiences in the Offshore renewable energy sector advising companies on the maritime regulations, employment and insurance issues.
Mathieu acts notably for insurers, port authorities, ship agencies, freight forwarders, stevedore companies but also advises several fishing enterprises (cooperatives and other associations) on specific fishing law (infringement, quotas, construction,…).
He has a deep knowledge of the rules of navigation at sea and writes occasionally in the LexisNexis legal review, on maritime regulations for yachts.
Who’s Who Legal France 2016 noted that Mathieu Croix was a “brilliant” lawyer for his “stellar work” in relation to shipping matters as well as matters affecting the yachting sector.
